During a video briefing from Donetsk region, Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine Alexander Hug has said that the OSCE patrol came under fire while monitoring the area between the towns of Avdiyivka and Yasynuvata in the early afternoon on Friday. None of the members of the patrol was injured, he said, UNIAN reports.
According to Hug, some people believe that the events that occur in Donbas are no longer worthy of attention. In this regard, he stressed that it was necessary to reject this point of view.
Hug drew attention to the negative situation with long queues at the checkpoints on the contact line. He also reported the death of one man, who was standing in a queue to cross the demarcation line. In addition, Hug said the mined areas pose a threat to the population.
It should be recalled that during the last 24 hours, militants made 40 attacks on Ukrainian army in Donbas, using Grad MRLS and 122mm and 152mm artillery systems, banned by the Minsk agreements.
