Genetic examination of the remains of victims of the Airbus A321 crash over the Sinai Peninsula is completed. This was reported by the press service of the vice-governor of St. Petersburg Igor Albin, Joinfo.ua reports with the reference to TASS.
“The genetic examination of the remains of victims of the terrorist attack, brought from Egypt. The Moscow Centre of Forensic Medicine conducted major work on the verification of the genetic material and molecular genetic identification,” – said in a statement.
Investigative Committee prepared and submitted to the headquarters, the schedule, according to which the relatives of the victims will be invited to the investigating authorities to review the investigation materials and complete the paperwork for the burials.
In St. Petersburg it has also begun a procedure of transferring of the remains to the relatives, the head of the Social Policy Committee of St. Petersburg Alexander Rzhanenkov.
“The process has been organized today,” – said Rzhanenkov, adding that “it is difficult to say when it will be complete.” “For all the bodies confirmed the process will be completed in the next few days,” – he added.
It should be recalled that Airbus A321 of Russian Kogalymavia airline, flight 9268, which was going from Sharm El-Sheikh to St Petersburg, crashed in Egypt early morning on October 31, killing 217 passengers (including 24 children) and 7 crew members. The plane crashed 30 minutes after take off from Sharm El-Sheikh in mountainous site of Sinai peninsula.
