Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to win Syria and outsmart the U.S. President Barack Obama by legalizing the Russian Federation Armed Forces in Syria with the Federation Council resolution. Such an opinion was expressed by military expert, coordinator of the “information resistance” Yuri Karin, Joinfo.ua reports.
Yesterday the Federal Council of the State Duma of the Russian Federation supported by 162 votes the Resolution, introduced by President Vladimir Putin, on the use of Russian Armed Forces outside the territory of Russia. Commenting the resolution, military expert Yuri Karin said that this move is addressed solely to “domestic consumption” in Russia. Karin stressed that Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has already lost in Ukraine and now is win back.
“The losses of the Russian army in Ukraine are too high and will be even more if Putin tries a full-scale invasion. He lost in Ukraine. But he has to win this back somehow. So Putin is trying to make it with Syrian operation. In fact, Putin started second Afghanistan. But this undertaking is targeting exclusively at domestic Russian audience, which, for example, was deprived of pension savings by freezing them for a year. He lost in Ukraine – it is necessary to win in Syria. Moreover, even before the resolution of the Federation Council, Russian troops have already been sent to Syria. They have been sent there under criminal conspiracy. And it is necessary to explain the casualties somehow, including those in Ukraine.
But Syria is not Ukraine, where for an hour, you can throw a large number of armored vehicles, troops and ammunition. And Syria is far away.
And militants of ISIS were not born yesterday, and they have tanks and artillery. If they try to attack some Russian military base, Russians will need need many people and weapons to protect it. But Putin is unlikely to succeed there.
Lately when France striked ISIS positions in Syria, Russian Foreign Ministry announced that France was bombing civilians. Putin has no allies in this war, except for Bashar Assad. Coalition against terrorism is led by Obama, not Putin. And the head of the Russian Federation is very displeased, “- said Karin.
It should be recalled Russia conducted its first airstrike in Syria. It is still not clear, whether or not the airstrike targeted the ISIS positions or the civilians.
