Today is the International Translation Day
Today is the International Translation Day - an opportunity to remind the world about the importance of every day work of those, who make the world a bit smaller, and the people a bit closer to each other

International Translation Day is a relatively recent entry into the calendar of world events. It was set up on September 30 in 1953. The celebrations have been promoted by FIT (the International Federation of Translators). In 1991 FIT announced the idea of an officially recognised International Translation Day to show the solidarity of the worldwide translation community and pay the tribute to the work translators and interpreters.

September 30 is a day St. Jerome, the Bible translator who is considered the patron saint of translators He was the first person to translate the Bible into Latin from Hebrew, making it accessible to much more people for the first time.
