Latest news from the ATO zone report that the situation in Mariupol is calm now, militants are withdrawing heavy equipment and personnel from the front. This was stated by Yaroslav Chepurnyi, the press officer of the M Sector, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to the television channel 112 Ukraine.
“In the Mariupol direction we can report stillness that has lasted 5 hours. It seems that we have never had such a situation in the sector,” he mentioned.
Chepurnyi notes that, according to intelligence information, the militants are withdrawing heavy equipment and personnel from the front line. “In some places they even put border guards, in some places they deploy Russian mercenaries who are more controlled and better disciplined instead of the local Donbas separatists,” Chepurnyi said.
He also adds that according to the intelligence agencies, the militants have launched a campaign to harvest hemp. “In the spring they planted some fields with this plant on purpose, and now they are harvesting it, we can only guess what they need it for,” he concluded.
