The Government of Ukraine has signed an agreement with the French company Airbus on receiving the data from satellite monitoring of high resolution online. However, it will only be possible to track insurgents’ activities in the ATO zone in such a way starting next year, Joinfo.ua reports referring to Ukrinform.
This information was announced by Oles Yasinskiy, the director of TVIS Company, at a press conference on August 12. TVIS is an official distributor of the French company Airbus in Ukraine and has a certificate for the provision of satellite imagery.
“Recently, the State Space Agency of Ukraine and the National Security and Defense Council have signed a contract with the French company Airbus for direct reception of satellite data of ultrahigh resolution.
Definitely it is good, as it will allow to reduce the access time to a new survey by a few hours, which, in fact, is estimated at hours,” he said.
“In view of the fact that the bureaucracy remains, we can assume that the project will reach its full capacity, probably, not this year. We expect that this technology will work in full force next year,” he said.
