The American Air Force carried out an airstrike on an army checkpoint in the Logar province in eastern Afghanistan killing fourteen Afghan soldiers, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to L’Agence France-Presse, which cites the local authorities.
“Today at 6.00 a.m., two U.S. Air Force helicopters attacked a checkpoint in the Baraki Barak district of the Logar province. The checkpoint caught fire … and fourteen soldiers were killed,” said the governor of the district Mohammad Rahim Amin. He noted that the checkpoint had not raised suspicions and had the flag of Afghanistan hovering over it.
A source in the American military circles confirmed the incident.
