The Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk asked the United States to increase its support for the Ukrainian military. He stated this today, July 17, 2015 during an hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada, Joinfo.ua reports.
“With the U.S. President, we agreed that the support for the police reform would be continued on the part of our American partners. Also, the U.S. is now training our National Guard, and I raised the issue of the increase in aid for our National Guard and the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Yatsenyuk said.
In addition, Canada will also send its military to train the Ukrainian army.
“Canada also decided to send its servicemen to train the Ukrainian army to resist military aggression,” the Prime Minister added.
Canada will help Ukraine in modernization of industry, too.
“We must frankly admit that we can not capture this market, because we are fall behind in our technology, we fall behind for a long time. That is why the agreement (on FTA with Canada – Ed.) provides direct technical assistance for modernization of the Ukrainian industry. The faster we will upgrade the Ukrainian industry, the faster we will enter the Canadian and European markets,” the Prime Minister said.
Yatsenyuk also talked about cooperation with the UK in the field of communication.
“With our British partners, we are starting to conduct strategic communications and actually change the system of communication, both in Ukraine and abroad. Confronting the Russian information aggression is the main thing we will do with our British partners. We have to tell the truth and show this truth at all global channels,” he said.
