The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted for ratification of the agreement on cooperation with NATO, as well as for adoption of a memorandum on cooperation in the issues of consultations, management, communications, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance in the framework of the NATO’s Partnership for Peace program, Joinfo.ua reports.
For the adoption of the relevant documents, the MPs gave 245 and 267 votes respectively.
“All this is done in order to implement the NATO Trust Fund for the improvement of communication and automation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” said the Deputy Minister of Defense Ihor Dolhov.
Also it was reported today that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine would discuss the cooperation regarding support and supplies between the government of the country and NATO.
It should be recalled that this summer, NATO will conduct exercises in Ukraine. The Alliance will also help Ukraine in the matters of military communications and air safety.
