“CrimeaIsOurs” threatens Europe with the loss of tourists. Thus, Sergey Strelbitsky, the “Minister of Resorts and Tourism” of the occupational administration of Crimea, threatened that the EU would lose all Russian tourists if it stopped issuing visas to the citizens of the Russian Federation, who had visited Crimea, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to the Russian media.
Thus, the self-constituted official reacted to ‘Memo to consumers when visiting the occupied territories’ published by the Russian Consumer Protection Agency ‘Public control’. The lawyers of the organization advised the Russians to go to Crimea only from mainland Ukraine, after obtaining the permission of the Ukrainian authorities.
“If Europe tries to take account of the Russian tourists coming to the island in another way, and decides to deprive them of the opportunity to attend the countries of the Old World, it will be a very big blow to the tourism of Europe itself,” Strelbitsky said.
The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office has regarded the recommendation of the Consumer Protection Agency to enter occupied Crimea legitimately under the Ukrainian law as “public calls for the actions aimed at violating the territorial integrity of Russia.” Immediately after placing the memo Roskomnadzor blocked the website of the organization (ozpp.ru).
