U.S. President Barack Obama held a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, Reuters informs referring to the statement of the White House, Joinfo.ua reports.
During the conversation, Obama demanded from Putin to withdraw the Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine. It is reported that Obama reminded Putin about the need to respect the Minsk agreements and demanded to “withdraw the Russian troops and equipment from the territory of Ukraine.”
During the conversation the leaders discussed other issues, including the activities of the terrorist group Islamic State and the Iranian nuclear deal. “The presidents discussed the deteriorating situation in Syria and stressed the importance of combining according to the formula “five plus one” in the ongoing negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program”, the White House informed.
