The European Union is going to form a team of experts engaged in monitoring the Russian media and detecting misrepresentation, the DW news agency reports. At the summit which will be held on March 19-20, the EU leaders intend to charge the head of European diplomacy Federica Mogherini to prepare a plan to "counter the continuing Russian disinformation campaign" by June.
According to the article, first, there will be created the so-called "communications team" assessing the content of the Russian mass media and "identifying obvious lies".
"Of course, we do not need counter-propaganda. But we understand that in some EU countries, as well as other European countries there are attempts to provide people with one-sided information," said the Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany Michael Roth. He believes that Germany is ready to contribute to the maintenance of media pluralism.
Earlier, we reported that German filmmakers inspired by the success and fame of German Chancellor Angela Merkel were going to create a biopic about her.
