In an interview with VGTRK (All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company) President Putin gave answer to a reporter's question whether Minsk-3 would be conducted in the event of escalation of hostilities or would Russia take emergency diplomatic measures to have DPR and LPR recognized, Joinfo.ua reports.
"So far, there is no need to take emergency measures because the Minsk agreement were not only a document developed by four members of the Minsk process, I mean Ukraine, Russia, France, and Germany, they are also enshrined in the UN Security Council resolution and took the form of an international legal instrument supported by virtually the entire international community. It's a different story. And I very much hope that they will be executed. If the agreements are executed, it is the right way to normalize the situation in this region of the country," Putin said.
He also stated that he maintained contact with President Petro Poroshenko, although he was surprised by the public statements of the Ukrainian leadership.
"For example, by the fact that the members of our administration participated in ttragic events in the Maidan a year ago. It is a complete nonsense. It is so far from reality that I even wonder where it comes from. Sometimes I'm told that such statements are based on inaccurate data of special services but I would have asked to be more careful when using those data appearing on the table of the Ukrainian counterparts," Putin said.
