NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg appealed to Russia to stop supporting the separatists in eastern Ukraine, Segodnya reports.
"Russia has supported the separatists with forces, training and advanced weapons and there has been a steady buildup of tanks and armored vehicles across the border from Russia to Ukraine," Stoltenberg said speaking in Riga.
According to NATO Secretary General, OSCE observers are not provided with an access to the area of collision, so they can do their work and monitor implementation of the ceasefire agreement.
"I urge Russia to end its support for the separatists and to withdraw its forces and military equipment from Eastern Ukraine in accordance with the Minsk agreements," Stoltenberg stated saying that Minsk remained "the best opportunity for a lasting peaceful solution" to the crisis in Ukraine.
Earlier, EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said that the European Union wanted to see the implementation of the Minsk agreements "in the next few hours."
It should be recalled that OSCE Mission demanded the militants to stop violating the conditions of the Minsk Agreement otherwise the separatists would face "grave consequences."
