The armed conflict in Ukraine will be resolved exclusively by peaceful means. This was assured by the president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko speaking at a joint press conference with the head of EU diplomacy Federica Mogherini in Kyiv.
"It is obvious that, for me as President and for all Ukrainian people, preservation of sovereignty and restoration of territorial integrity of the country is highly important. And we have a common agreement that we are resolving this conflict on the basis of my peace plan implemented in the Minsk agreements," said Poroshenko.
"And if I could I would pass the same message to all Ukrainians – stay united, stay focused on your agenda of reforms. Because that is the way of getting out of this terrible year. I hope it will soon be a memory of the past and not a perspective of the future," said Mogherini, referring to Poroshenko. She also noted that Ukraine can count on the EU aid in the implementation of its ambitious reform projects. The head of EU diplomacy Federica Mogherini is in a two-day visit to Kyiv.
