Today the Foreign Ministers of the Visegrad Group, including Poland will come to Kyiv. In the afternoon, the head of the EU diplomacy Federica Mogherini will come to the capital of Ukraine too. This meeting should be an expression of solidarity with Ukraine.
The head of the Polish Foreign Ministry Grzegorz Schetyna and foreign ministers of Slovakia, Hungary, and the Czech Republic Miroslav Lajcak, Peter Shiyarto, and Lubomir Zaoralek will meet with the President Petro Poroshenko and other Ukrainian politicians.
Polish Foreign Ministry reports that the visit is aimed to demonstrate solidarity with Ukraine and support for the reforms. It is referred to aid proposals in the field of system changes.
Due to very bad economic situation in Ukraine, the authorities of Kyiv want to get financial assistance from the EU. Brussels is ready to provide it, but only after reforms implementation. So far, changes are made only in the field of higher education, other reforms remain on paper. The authorities promise to implement the changes starting from spring.
Earlier, it was reported that the head of Poland, being at the Prague Summit stressed that the Russian-Ukrainian conflict contributes to the unity of the countries of Central Europe.
