"Sanctions have worked out: the Russian economy has been affected – very seriously, in fact. That's why the sanctions are necessary. It is our only instrument to exert pressure on Russia," she said.
At the same time, the diplomat says that the sanctions do not end in itself, the EU must develop a "political strategy" to resolve the conflict in Ukraine in parallel with the restrictive measures against Russia. "Therefore, it is important that we continue to insist on the full embodiment of the Minsk Protocol," she said.
