A Dutch team from Delft University wins a solar car race in Australia
Dutch Nuon Solar team from Delft University won the World Solar Challenge in Australia

Nuon Solar Team from Delft University of the Netherlands won the World Solar Challenge in Australia. They are also the winners of the previous 2013 race, Joinfo.ua reports with the reference to BBC.

The World Solar Challenge is the 3,000km race in Australian outback from Darwin to Adelaide. The race happens every two years and lasts for about four days. The main purpose of the race is to promote research on solar-powered cars.

About 50 teams, participating in the race this year, are from universities and schools around the world.

In 2013 the Delft University team won the race on Nuna7 model, and this year they made it on Nuna8.  a car designed at the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. The winners celebrated by jumping into the fountain in Adelaide’s city centre.
