Since 1 January 2016 the State Customs Service of Ukraine has given 1,000 EUR.1 certificates of preferential origin status to Ukrainian importers to the EU countries, Joinfo.ua reports.

The EUR.1 certificate enables Ukrainian companies to import goods on the duty-free basis under the Free Trade Agreement as of 27 June 2014, as reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Most of the issued certificates allow the duty-free import to the UK – 451, Austria – 280 (mainly apple juice concentrate); Poland – 62 (clear glass); to Germany – 57 and Spain – 42 (mainly honey); to France – 35 (mainly seeds and honey).

The State Customs Service of Ukraine issues EUR.1 certificates free of charge and in the shortest terms, but it reckons the increased responsibility of the exporter for the accuracy of the information provided.

The certificate should be filed for each consignment in order, if it would be necessary to present as evidence that the goods comply with the preferential status. All the certificates are registered in Ukrainian information complex “Register of EUR.1 certificates issued”.
